If you use PaperClip or BobsTerm Pro for telecommunications, you may encounter
problems with uploads to CompuServe. The default settings in both programs
are fine for XMODEM downloads, but must be changed before you can do XMODEM
uploads.
To get both uploads and downloads working, make the following changes:
1. PaperClip: in telecommunications mode, at the Communications Options menu,
change the File Transfer Protocol from XMODEM to XMODEM CRC.
2. BobsTerm Pro: on the XFER parameters menu, change the CRC CHECKSUM setting
from OFF to CCITT.
For both programs, save the changes as your permanent settings: the CRC/CCITT
version actually has a better chance of correcting errors during a file
transfer than the default version, and should work with almost all host
systems. The only time you might need to change the XMODEM setting back to
the default is if you find a system somewhere that can't handle the enhanced
CRC/CCITT version of XMODEM.
Note: if you're using BobsTerm Pro, don't forget that you have to save
parameters separately for each macro or phone macro you use.
